These terms and conditions are designed to ensure that from the moment you land on our website, your experience with us is as smooth and soothing as the treatments themselves. When you book your appointment, you agree to the guidelines below.
1. Booking and arriving to your appointment
We have three beautiful treatment rooms that can be quite busy. It means we can only take bookings by appointment and you may be disappointed if you try to get a last minute slot. Advance booking is highly recommended to
avoid that disappointment.
To begin your visit in a state of calm, arrive 15 minutes early. It gives us time to welcome you warmly and begin your
treatment as planned. Latecomers may find your treatment time is shortened and we don’t want you to
miss out on any steps.
Appointments can be made for guests aged 18 and above.
2. Changing or cancelling your appointment
Things happen and diaries can change, we know that. If you need to change or cancel your nappointment, let us know at least 48 hours before your treatment time to avoid being charged.
3. Your health, safety and wellbeing is our top priority
Our Thermal Experience Room is an amazing experience and one of the only in Bath. The gentle heat and steam are not suitable if you are pregnant, have heart conditions, high blood pressure, have recently undergone surgery, or have any health concerns affected by heat.
If you’re unsure about whether this applies to you, speak to us before booking, we’re here to guide you.
4. Do you have any health conditions?
If there are any health conditions, recent surgeries or injuries that you are carrying (and need us to ease) let us know before you book. We’ll be able to advise and recommend the best treatments for you. Some treatments may not be suitable for particular health conditions, and we won’t be able to treat you if you carry a medical condition that means a treatment is deemed unsafe.
Treatments are booked at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any adverse reactions, injuries, or complications that arise from treatments if accurate medical information is not provided.
5. Your personal belongings
We have a small number of lockers in the spa to store your belongings. Staying at the hotel? We recommend you leave any valuables in your bedroom safe whilst you visit the spa. Sorry, but if your items are lost or damaged in the spa, we can’t take responsibility.
6. Spa Etiquette
We want every guest to unwind and detangle in the spa. Pop your mobile phone on silent or switch it off when you visit and help keep the quiet rhythm of the spa for yourself and other guests.
Wear underwear for all treatments and swimwear for the Thermal Experience. Nudity is not allowed.
7. Parking
There are a small number of parking spaces at the Francis Hotel which are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Parking costs £5 per hour.
If our car park is full, the nearest option is Charlotte Street Car Park, BA1 2NE, it’s just a short five minute walk from the spa. You’ll be floating back after your treatment.
8. Are you expecting a baby?
Congratulations. We recommend the GAIA Jade Facial and Mother GAIA treatments if you are pregnant. Appointments can only be made after the first trimester.
9. Redeeming a gift voucher
If you’ve been gifted an experience or monetary voucher, lucky you. We treat both as a form of payment. Simply present the voucher when you arrive and we’ll deduct the value from your total bill. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
10. Our prices
All prices are listed in GBP and include VAT.
From time to time, we will review our pricing and may update it without giving any notice. Price changes will be updated online and on our in-house treatment lists. Of course, you will only pay the price you were quoted at the point of booking, no surprises from us.
11. Accessibility
If you have any mobility needs, contact us before you arrive so that we can have the best support ready for you. The spa is accessible by lift and includes an accessible changing room.
Our therapists are not trained to assist with mobility needs such as getting on or off a treatment bed, showering, or moving around the space. We can prepare a plan for your visit if you contact us before your appointment.
12. Your liability
We will not be held liable for any personal injuries, accidents, or damages that occur during treatments or while you are at the spa.
By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that treatments are undertaken at your own risk.
13. Our responsibility to you
There may be some exceptional circumstances where we have to refuse your treatment, for example, if you arrive under the influence of alcohol or if a treatment may not be safe to perform. Your wellbeing and safety are always front and centre when we make these decisions.
If you need to get in touch with any of the team, just email us on spa@francishotelbath.com or direct message us through the Francis Hotel Instagram page. We’ll reply as quickly as we can.
The team won’t respond to any messages sent to their personal social media accounts and we may block you for trying to contact us that way both from social media and from booking any treatment with us.
14. Get in touch
Got a question, a special request, or simply wish to talk through which treatment might suit you best? Just ask, we’re more than happy to help and make sure you get the most out of your experience with us.
15. Updates to these terms and conditions
From time to time, we will review these terms and conditions and may change them. It’s important that you read through them every time you make an appointment and before you tick to accept the terms. Any changes will be published online and will be effective as soon as published.
